AAWR STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
AAWR is committed to inspiring and mentoring women in radiology, radiation oncology, and related professions through a supportive community focused on networking, mentorship, and education. Membership and involvement are open to all physicians and PhD researchers in the imaging community, regardless of gender.
Our focuses include:
- Networking among women and allies in radiology
- Increasing visibility of women in radiology
- Sponsorship of activities that impact women in radiology
- Mentoring and coaching programs to advance careers of women in radiology
The Value of AAWR Membership
The AAWR was founded in 1981 to address social and economic issues facing women in radiology. The profession of radiology is dramatically changing, with increasing representation by women. We invite radiologists, radiation oncologists, radiation physicists, and radiation biologists. We welcome all allies who support them. Membership categories include attending radiologists from the US and Canada, members-in-training, and international radiologists.
